New owner,new baby veiled,advice needed :)

Good evening everyone

This probably sounds like a broken record but any advice would be grateful. I have a two month old female veiled and I've named her 'Cleo' I adore her. Since I've had her I have been placing a small amount of crickets in a small dish at the bottom of her enclosure and she would come down slowly and eat when I close the door and walk away. I have handled her a few times and she looked nervous but sat in my hand. When I put my hand in (always slowly) on Saturday she puffed up and lunged at me (but she was behind her plants so I thought maybe just a territory strike).Little bit expected really so I have not held her since so I decided to change my strategy. When she sits on her highest branch I have been offering her the crickets in the dish on my hand,she raises one front leg as a bit edgy,doesn't run off and will lean and eat from the dish whilst keep one eye on me. When's she eaten she will go hide up in the vegetation and watch me as I lay on my sofa which is next to her enclosure. I know these awesome animals are nervous but what strategies would you all suggest? I love to be able to hold her eventually but am open to the chance that I may not be able to depending on her personality. You guys know more than me but I am open to learning to give my Cleo the best life I can,thanks for reading

So my veiled, ghost, acted similar to yours. I decided to get meal worms for him as a treat and fed him one in my hand. Used a leaf from one of the plants in his cage as a dish. He came down from the basking branch, ate the worm and decided o continue climb to see how far he could climb. He got to the top of my head and plopped down and laid there while I watched tv. Ever since he's been a lot more eager for me to let him approach me so I can let him free range in my room.

Welcome to the forums and congrats on your new girl. I set up plants and little trees for my guys to hang on while I closely watch them. They are usually much friendlier out of the cage.
