New Panther chameleon just arrived and doing good!

I just got my male Ambanja Panther chameleon today and I know I'm supposed to leave him alone to get settled. But is it ok for me to sit in the room and kinda watch him while he does? Would that stress him out? I've refrained but decided to try sitting on the floor, and caught him eating already which is a good sign. And I don't plan to try and handle him. I will start some hand feeding in about 3 days to work up to that, to build trust.

That's fine, just keep a bit away. It's a good idea to keep the chameleon up higher than you so he feels more secure. Watch out for signs of stress like if he keeps his eyes closed, turns dark, puffs up, or hisses. Then you know he wants some alone time.

Enjoy :)
