Congratulations on the shed. Handsome guy!

How is he on his water consumption. His side skin looks a bit wrinkled and his casque (above and behind his eyes) and lobes looks a little hollow (although it may just be the lighting). Is he a good drinker?

He drinks a lot! I mist him several times a day and tonight I offered him water from a small leaf dish and he drank water for about 5 to 10 minutes. He moves his body in really wierd postions and he looks really awful...but it might be my camera....I really don't know how to use the thing and I have been messing with the flash all day! I take pictures of him thinking that they will be great but the light is to bright...I turn off the flash and you can hardly see him! Thanks for the concern about the water....I think he is ok since he does drink at least two times a day, for about five minutes or more each time. :)

Glad to hear it. Thank you for the response. Yes, we own veileds, panthers, and meller's- and the Meller's are strange looking compared to the others. Their proportions and their movements are so different from our other chams.

Is it normal for them to sleep a bit during the day....I just changed his cage three days ago and it is much bigger but when I got home today he was asleep! This is just the first time I have seen him asleep before his normal bedtime (around 8 or 9). I know that they can get stressed by changing cages but he seems to be loving his new cage. (He is eating, pooping, shedding :), and exploring the cage...so I was just wondering is a little cat nap normal?

Our male Meller's tuck himself in for an early bedtime. What time did you get home and find your's asleep. Our guys have lights out at 7PM, but the male Meller's goes to bed a couple hours earlier than that.

I work ten hour days right now which is crazy ...I turn on his lights at 6 am and I came home today a little after 6.
