New Pics of My Pygmy Chameleons

Very interesting - I did some looking at pic and can't get a clear understanding of Kenyan vs bearded. Looks like yours have little beards. I had some that looked just like yours (males with the stripes and little beards) and was told they were brevs (bearded). HELLLLLP. Does anyone have a good handle on these guys? I would like to know more about them so I can recognize them better. I went into a reptile store and was told that the Spectras were beardeds with long tails..give me a break. They know less then we do.

Let's pick brains here and fill us in guys. Who can give us some good info or stear us to a good place with some good info on these guys. I'll print it out and do some studying or buy a book. I love the little ones.

so cute!!! love the one with the car becuz the pygmy is looking at it like wtheck?

Lol it was probably thinking that. :)

I was told they were Kenyans but tbh I can't tell the difference between those and Bearded so I wouldn't mind people's opinions on mine, whether they are actually Kenyans. :)

I especially like the stripey ones........cool chams :).
Is it a tiny car or a giant pygmy though.....?

They so different! Love them! Oh btw can I ask you what kind if plant is the one on the left in the last picture?:)
Thanks

I might be getting the 2011 one. Either that or a 335i or M3. I love Evos though. :p
If you live where there is snow and stilll want to get the Bimmer, get the 335xi (lil less HP , but AWD)

RWD is more fun, but nothing like an AWD car (this coming from a FWD feen).I'm also not a big fan of the EVO 10.

By the way great looking Chams .

They are all brevs. I heart brevs!

Thanks. :) So I've been mis-sold them as Kenyans then?

Lol I wondered what that had to do with chams. Thank you. :D

Here is a great thread for you to look at to compare the species. Kenyans are R. Kerstenii. The stripes sometimes confuse people into thinking their brevs are kerstenii, but I have yet to see a kerstenii in captivity. So I don't think it was a deception as much as just a misidentification. Yours are R. Brevicaudatus without even a smidgeon of doubt.

And here's a pic of my little male very stripey like some of the pics you posted: https://www.chameleonforums.com/members/ferretinmyshoes-albums-colorful-little-aliens-picture8882-tiberius.html

Great thank you. Here's a question for you. Does it mean something when the female goes stripey like the male?

My female gets stripey when she's trying to keep the male away. That's the only time I've really seen a bold striped pattern on her (when he was pursuing her while gravid) so that's my best guess...

Ooh. If there were ever eggs is it best to remove them? I try my hardest not to disturb them so only have a quick look for eggs every couple of weeks although I don't look very thoroughly I must admit.

If they lay eggs you can leave them in there because they will often hatch fine in that environment. But watch closely around hatching time because the mom will try to eat them... Or you can remove them to be safe. Incubate no lower than 64 or higher than 77 for incubation temps. Staying more in the 75 degree range had a much quicker incubation time (40-50 days) than staying at lower temps like 65 (90+ days). Source: Necas

OMG. If I find any I think I will remove them. It's really difficult trying to dig for them without disturbing the Chams

You really only need to dig if you know they're there. Otherwise that's too much disturbance for them and you'll stress them out if you dig up their home too often. You can usually tell when they lay eggs if you watch closely. The females will look really round one day and really skinny the next! I've never seen mine digging or laying so that's the only way to tell. I found all her clutches and had babies hatching every month this summer.

Okay thanks. One of the females does look thinner but I think it was the one that went stripey. I can't actually tell the females apart normally.
