New pro mist system!!!!

I knew that would get you guys fired up!!!!

LOL.. I KNOW THAT WOULD GET YOU GUYS FIRED UP!!! Just messing around i am sure MIST KING makes an amazing product also.. Someone should look up if there are any comparisons in an articles or real numbers to back up ether of them!!! SO we CAN make a fair comparison... Can anyone help????

AS for the drainage I don't use one and I will tell you why.... tons of water don't come out it is a true misting system very very very fine mist which equals only 2/3 of a shot glass full of water per minute.. = I have plants that cover 60- 75% of my floor so it is a perfect amount for the water that drips off the leaves to have water for my plant with no excess!! I am running the mister every four hours and still none!!! my cycle starts at 8 am and ends a 8:01: pm

Blue BAR Ambilobe !! My lights are reptisun 5.0 and a 60 watt grow bulb from lowes. Thanks for the hook up instructions it is up and running on the automatic timer and the system is whisper quite and AMAZING!!! PRO MIST IS STILL THE BEST AND ALWAYS WILL BE !!!!

I have owned Pro Mist and it was a huge disappointment but then again, it isn't meant for large collections though they told me it would do well with my application. In my experience it was far from "whisper quiet" but if they made changes, that's great.

I have been running my system (Mist King) for several months and have not had any issues with the pump or the nozzles (over 20 of them on one pump). Above all, I love the great customer service with Mist King.

We see misting companies come and go. Pro Mist included. Mist King has raised the bar on quality and customer service. We will see who is the best and who will always be. ;)

I will say this the whole system took me 15 minutes at the MOST to hook up including using the timer and that is with adjusting everything and making sure it was perfect !!! Everything is truly easy to work with I don't know about mist king but seriously I don't think it could have been easier to hook up or could be any quieter and it sprays very fine just the right amount of water and truly that is all I care about!!!

Oh I know. Just providing comments based on my experience to this thread, that's all. I'm happy you're happy. :)

I was writing that before you posted that.. No that i what I was asking for peoples experience and feedback for their experiences with misting units.. Anyone please chim in !!!!!!

Ok so I bought the zoo med slider the 30 " one to go on my 24 x 24 x 48 cage needless to say it sucks !! I bought it so I could use the tube lights that everyone said were better for the 18" reptisun 5.0 to fit in.. Anyway
What are people using for light the size light and wattage for there 24x 24x 48 ???? Please I am stuck with no lights now because I have to return this piece of junk!! They said it is the best lighting out there bull---- !!

Thaks scorp, for letting me know about drainage with this system. I am thinking about doing a system myself but I have hard wood floors, and wanted to contain the water, I think I am going to pick up one of the LLL reptile drain pans as well when I get my mister!
Do you heat the water that goes into your cage some how?

All you need to do is a little consumer investigating...... look at what a Mist King comes with vs. the ProMist.

Promist doesn't come with a adjustable nozzles. The fittings you show in your photo are barb fittings..... you slip the hose over that and pray it doesn't pop off. you pay extra for the fittings that are standard with the Mist King.

You must not be misting enough....

A thought.... even if you are misting enough with the times you use right now. Not having drainage can cause issues if the pump and timer malfunction and stay on.... You'll have a very wet table or floor or counter... or whatever.

I learned the very valuable lesson of a misting system failure w/o having a drainage system... it sucks. My entire table and floor around the edge of the table soaked, all because i wasn't paying attention when moving lights about and accidently halfway disconnected my nozzle.

The water tray?
Depends on the demensions of your cage.. two colors to choose from.
Only one style water tray on there. The other is a substrate tray......:)

You must not be misting enough....

I'm just jumping in on this point because it's rather silly.

I know that everyone on this site likes to mist for 4 hours daily using 5 gallons of water a day but that truly isn't what the animals require.

Madagascar goes through a 5 month period where there is less then 1-2 inches of rain.

The appropriate amount of misting is the amount to cover all the leaves in the cage while enticing your animal to drink. If that's 1 minute or 10 minutes, that's up to the keeper to find out.

And I decided that it wasn't enough. ;)

Did your pro mist pm50 come with the timer or did you have to order it separately and are you happy with the system so far?

I don't think so I talked to the owner BOB and he told me it would be a great idea to add it and i have to admit is the the best timer I could ever ask for with the features it has is nowhere close to a normal timer .. you can even dial in longitude and give your cham the exact sunrise and sunset times in Madagascar !! this thing is amazing and it is like 30 bucks and for working for the pro-mist system you can set it for 14 different times!! the system is working great and i use distilled water so the misters and pump last for a very long time .,, hope that helps!!

IME distilled water isn't good for any living thing. You're chameleon would be better off if you used spring water or tap water.

Chameleon > cost of nozzle

Similar timers by the same brand that come in the promist kit can be found at Home Depot or Lowe's for about $20. The whole sun rise sunset thing is somewhat standard on the digital timers these days, especially from Intermatic. The timer in that kit can be found on amazon for $20.

What experience have you had with distilled water being bad?
