New Species of Chameleon found?

The cham they have pictured almost looks like a Weidershemii with a splash of crimson on the top of it's head

For those who don't know, that is a female Furcifer timoni from the Montagne d`Ambre National Park. They've been known for a few years but were only officially described a couple years ago.

It's great that new species are being found almost every week, but if habitats continue to disappear, we will be losing species just as quickly as they are found :(

There have been 11 new chameleon species described from Madagascar since 1999. Most of the photos shown in that album are of Furcifer timoni which was described in 2009 (there was a thread about them here: https://www.chameleonforums.com/new-furcifer-species-32334/). Unfortunately for the other new chameleon species they talk about, Calumma tarzan, they are showing a photo of a meller's chameleon (Trioceros melleri). Here is a thread about Calumma tarzan, however: https://www.chameleonforums.com/new-species-calumma-tarzan-46128/

So, for everyone who's not Kent67, it's actually not a new species, but we do still all want one.........:D
