New to cham caring

I got my pet Jackson Chameleon about a week ago, On the 28th of january. I named him poob and hes very cute.

I'd like to know some tips for jackson chameleons like for example how I would go about trying to get him use to me.

I just got accepted to this forum today soo, Give me some tips for this site also. He's a juvenile and thats pretty much all I know.

Welcome, and I love the photoshop! I have no experience with jacksons, so @Kaizen and @JacksJill will be more help! I will say we can give you the best feedback possible if you fill out this form in as much detail as possible, including more pics of your cham, his/her lights, and his/her’s full cage (lights to bottom):

Chameleon Info:
  • Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
  • Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
  • Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
  • Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
  • Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
  • Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
  • History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.
Cage Info:
  • Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
  • Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
  • Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
  • Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
  • Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
  • Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
  • Location - Where are you geographically located?
Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.

Hi and welcome! :) So very glad you’re here and looking to give your little cutie all he needs. I can’t be of much help with the specific care of Jackson’s, but there are several here that keep them and can help guide you. The best I can do is send you here https://chameleonacademy.com/chameleon-husbandry-program-getting-started-with-chameleons/ and here https://chameleonacademy.com/the-jacksons-chameleon-trioceros-jacksonii/ Chameleon academy has perhaps the most accurate and up to date info on keeping chameleons. Another great source for general chameleon care is Neptune the chameleon on YouTube. As for the forum, it’s full of information...check out the forum section and the various sections of that, the search feature, blogs, etc. Of course, ask as many questions as you need.

I don’t own a Jackson’s but fill out the form please and give us pictures hopefully someone who owns a Jackson’s can help @ERKleRose beat me to it 😆

She has no bulge, Doesnt have light colors of skin and she has the three horns.

If you’ve read the CF care sheet head over to the chameleon academy. There is a care sheet for Jackson’s, but more importantly there’s lots of info on cage set up and general care.
If you fill out the form @ERKleRose posted, the Jackson’s experts can help out. It looks like @JacksJill has already responded here and can definitely help

Welcome!! You sure have a cutie on your hands!! I would love to see more pics!! 😍 Jacksons are so fascinating to me!

Like everyone has said before, there is a lot of people here who can definitely help. And again, welcome!!!
