Hello everyone

My name is Racheal, I have been thinking about purchasing a chameleon for a little while now but as I searched the internet I have found lots of info and some of which is very contradictory, and most confusing to a beginner. For this reason I have not bought a chameleon yet, I want to make sure I do things right, and provide the best I can to my future chameleon.

I was hoping to find so good information and advice before starting on my own chameleon adventure! A little about myself, I am a mother of 2 beautiful human children, and several animal children lol.

Now I have not yet to purchased a chameleon but looking into it in the near future hopefully, I hoped to get some advice before starting. As I said I am brand new to these beautiful creatures, but I feel coming here was the right place to start, just browsing a little and looking at different forums and articles I feel I can really learn a lot here to hopefully get and keep my future animal as happy and healthy as possible.

I will be here looking at different forums and trying to get good information, but in the mean time any replies to this post or advice is greatly appreciated, I want to do the best I can for my future pet so all constructive advice is welcome!
I THINK the type chameleon I would like to purchase is a veiled chameleon. Any suggestions on setup, and where to look into purchasing a healthy chameleon? Recommended breeders near or in Ohio?

Looking forward to being a part of the site, and starting out on the right foot in chameleon ownership.

Welcome to the neighborhood!
This IS THE place to find info/advice/help.
I have 2 chams:
A veiled, Simone about 3 1/2 yrs old, a rescue with MBD.
A panther, James Cagney 2 1/2 yrs old.
The thing to do is read, read, read...
Personally I would chose a male panther, no egg issues, generally friendly. Cagney goes everywhere with me in the warm weather.
Get their room ready before you get one & be prepared to be amazed!

a male panther chameleon, I guess I will keep researching. I have seen on panther chameleon pictures, they are beautiful. I know I have been told male chameleons as a rule are typically more colorful.

Some of the information may seem contradictory because you keep them differently based on species and the climate you live in~
