Hey everyone! Names Jason and i thought that i should introduce myself since ive been reading on the forum for the past little while. Im going to be going to the reptile expo in september and will hopefully pick up my first chameleon. Im going to build an enclosure before the expo and make sure i get everything i need. The only thing i really need to know is that is there a max size that the enclosure should be or should i make it as big as i can?

Welcome Jason...
What type of Chameleon are you planning on getting and how old?? The Cage should not be large if the Chameleon will be young.

"watsup dude... sounds like youre going to the expo in toronto in september??"

Yeah man the one in mississauga! i cant wait, you going to be there? There's also another one there in november too!

Ive never been to a reptile expo before so i have no idea how old the chameleons will be but i found out that there are going to be some nosy faly's and nosy mitsio's there but thats about it, so basically im going to choose the nicest looking one i can find for the best price :p

Welcome Jason. You might want to get two cages....a smaller one 25 inches high or so in case you buy a baby.....they will probably be cheaper than an adult and then you will need at least a 48 inch high for an adult. You can keep the small cage for travel, vet visits and so forth. Since you are new to chams I wouldn't recommend buying to young of a baby. Try to get at least a 3 to 4 month old.

Thnx Jannb ill be writing that down so i dont forget :p anything else i should be looking for when buying a chameleon??

You want to make sure to get a healthy one. There are a couple good breeders from Canada here on the forums. You should send sandrachameleon a pm I'm sure she could recommend you one.
