So after being brought up by my boyfriend and a spontaneous purchase from petsmart i came home with a baby chameleon and all the wrong supplies. I have never owned any reptile of my own before but my mom did growing up. I should of known the employees at the store were not fully knowledgeable and should of done research before the impulse buy. After getting home and setting everything up the way i was told i started looking up information on my own.
She is currently in a tall glass tank, in which i discovered is not want she needs. I was told to buy a reptifogger to keep the humidity up, i have a 50 watt infrared bulb for night, a 75 watt UVA bulb for basking and a 26watt 2.0 UVB repti glo bulb for day day time. i was told to buy wood chips to place in the bottom which after realizing this is NOT want to do i immediately took everything out that i could without bothering her. At the moment she does not have a lot of green or plants in her cage. (going to get some real plants today) and i have a sheet wrapped around the sides until i can get a background for her.
I just feel like i was given all the wrong information and now i have an adorable baby veiled chameleon that i dont really know how to take care of. I could really use the help and advice on what i should do from here.
I know i was wrong for buying her without having my own knowledge but we have all fallen in love with her and i DO NOT want to give her up or for her to die!!!! please help!
I think i added two pictures of her and the cage (before i made the adjustments) my first post so im learning! please dont be to mean!!
