NEWBIE NEEDING ADVICE!

Hey!
So i just purchased my first chameleon and everything is going smooth so far...
I want to share some of the things I'm doing but aren't 100% sure of...would love some feedback from experienced Chameleon owners :)

Pascal is a 1 year old male veiled chameleon

Food: Pascal eats 7-10 3week old crickets each day dusted in calcium without d3 every other feeding, and i dust with repashy calcium plus once a week.
Humidity: is kept between 49-68
I buy a premade gutload for the crickets and also give them bran and carrots and lettuce
His water is a fountain where he hangs upside down to drink from it (I found this a little weird but breeder says its fine lol)

ANY feedback and tips are greatly appreciated!!!

It sounds like you are in good shape what bulbs/lighting and cage size/style do you have? Do you use disilled water only for drinking water?

Yes! All my water is distilled, I use drops from ZooMed to purify my tap water. Pascal is in a 40 gallon live ivarium, glass on 4 sides with aluminum mesh top. I was wondering if i should be dusting with calcium everyday? Been reading people that dust everyday every other day every 3rd day. I mean Pascal isn't that old so i figured everyother day is okay plus the rep cal plus has other vitamins in it so he gets some type of a multivitamin. I have 2 bulbs a CFL and an ifrared bulb as well. I will check the watts on it as I'm not sure what they are.

Calcium without d3 every feeding, with d3 every other week

If he is one year old I would feed him every day, but every other day.

The more vegs and fruits you use to feed the crickets the better. Lettuce is mainly water.

Sorry I made a mistake. I meant I would not feed him every day.

Okay gotcha, I was originally feeding him every other day but he ate all the crickets really fast so i switched to everyday...could he be going through a mini growth spurt? He was just 1 yesterday

Just a thought. Maybe try one day off food per week. It is actually good for them. He is still young, that may be why he is greedy :)

Can you get some pictures? Of him and his enclosure? Also you shouldn't have a fountain, it's a breeding ground for bacteria and unless you take it apart and clean it every day it's impossible to keep clean.

Tap water treated with "drops from ZooMed" is not distilled water. You may be better off getting an RO system for pets, or one that humans can use too.

not sure about this but I read its not good for chams in a glass housey ,, something about pneumonia , but if you had a year in glass I guess its ok , if I was you read up on this

In a fish tank type, it would not be ideal, but many (especially in Europe) have glass enclosures with proper ventilation.

Im sorry its mot really a fountain, Pascal lives in a live ivarium, all his plants are real and are in platation soil, so if he ingests it nothing happens. The waterfall is more like a tiny tube hooked up to a pump that has a low pressure downwards type waterfall. Underneath the plantation soil is a net separating it from the Leca balls, the leca balls work to keep the soil hydrated and the water flows through the soil to get back to the leca balls. Its a very cool ecosystem I will have to post pictures! Unfortunately In canada and my province especially we do not have the climates to sustain chameleons in mesh enclosures. It gets too cold and the humidity level is next to nothing.
