NEWBIE NEEDING ADVICE!

not sure about this but I read its not good for chams in a glass housey ,, something about pneumonia , but if you had a year in glass I guess its ok , if I was you read up on this

Yes that is true depending on the area. In my area it is far too cold to keep chameleons in mesh enclosures, as well as the humidity in the mesh enclosures is next to nothing here; the top of the 40gallon is mesh so its well ventilated :)

Tap water treated with "drops from ZooMed" is not distilled water. You may be better off getting an RO system for pets, or one that humans can use too.

I do have a purified water system, however his breeder said she uses the drops with tap water and hasnt had any issues.

Then it sounds like you are doing the right thing. I would just be watchful for signs of URI and keep it from getting to moist.

In a fish tank type, it would not be ideal, but many (especially in Europe) have glass enclosures with proper

Yea, the problem with mesh enclosures in my area is that there is no way to keep a consistent controlled humidity or temperature. Our environment is simply too cold :( my tank is glass on 4 sides with an open top that has aluminum mesh and I also have a fan on in the room which circulates the air nicely keeping the humidity under control :) i have heard some very unsuccessful stories about keeping chams in mesh enclosures in my area. We have snow probably 9 months of the year lol!

I'd use the purified water system instead of tap water and drops, because where does the chemicals in the drops, alongs with the contaminants go? There still in there.

Try the eBay suppliers, or a sponsor next time. VMFeeders gave me good horn worms and were the least expensive, but Josh's seems to get less expensive with multiple items [shipping cost].

I understand , I didn't see where they lived , so sorry about the misinformation,, I live in Louisiana and believe me its hot and humid LOL

Hey no worries :) honestly i get that all the time! We have snow and cold for like 8-10months here LOL! So yea he would freeze :) thanks for the input though! I honestly appreciate all advice :) its a constant learning process <3
