NightCrawlers

Bought some worms today at the bait shop and was wondering a few things. Can I feed them right away or do they need to be gutloaded. They came in some type of dirt but I don't know what type and if its bad. And the next thing, I added some to my plants pots for better health, but could this be a way of gut loading them because I know this soil is ok. Then, how do I feed them, I had it in the feeder cup at first, but since thats at the top near his basking spot, he was drying out. Right now I have him in a water pan at the bottom with enough to keep him moist. Any ideas?

Im more of a noob. Are night crawlers okay to feed to chameleons? I'm looking for a variety item because all they have around me is the usual. If so, that is awesome! and i would assume you could let some vegtables decompose on top of the soil for added nutrients and for safety sake you should use new, organic soiil. Thats my guess :/

Don't let the worms drown! They do that...easily!

I know from experience chams CAN eat nightcrawlers, however they have a very difficult time getting their tongue to suction onto the worm because of the worm's slimy coating. Also it can take ALOT of time for them to swallow a crawler because theyre so long and squirmy...
