No idea what happened?!?!?!?!

So I have been putting one of my chams out in the sun daily and bringing him in at night. This has been going on for weeks. Today when i brought him in i sprayed his cage down and he drank a lot. About 30mins after he finished drinking i picked him and and just walked around with him for a couple minutes and then his mouth started bubbling. He really freaked me out because he started regurgitating a lot of water. So i leaned him upside down and gently opened his mouth and a good amount of water/saliva came out. Along with some digested food. Did i just upset his stomach because i was carrying him around or is something else wrong? He isn't showing ANY problematic signs.

You really shouldn't pick him up too soon after drinking. Lots of times thirsty lizards hold water for a while in the back of their mouth/top of throat before it goes down into the belly. If you tilt them nose down slightly, water will run right out. I am almost certain that is what happened here.

I agree. Chams don't have a sphincter between their esophagus and stomach. If their stomach is full of water and/or food and they are handled or turned over they can and do bring the water back up into their mouth. Be careful...they can aspirate the water into the trachea this way.

I have had this happen when a reptile becomes dehydrated and drinks too much at once.

i'd say its likely that he just got too thirsty and made a pig of himself. the only other thing that comes to mind, is you say he has been getting regular sun, so my question is, is he still getting supplemental d3? just a thought

all these are good thoughts, i have been misting him daily multiple times before this instance. He hasnt done anything weird since then. I think it was just me walking around upset his stomach and he just threw up a little. :( poor guy, but good to know i learned no to bother him like that any more!

They aren't like todlers..... he didn't get a upset tummy from some moving around... I think he over drank. sounds like you don't mist enough. is his cage in the shade or is he always in the sun? I bet he isn't hydrated enough and the humidity has been pretty low lately. If his cage is in the sun and he has shade... you should still be giving him a good amount of misting to keep cool.

It is half in the shade, the sun is at the top of the cage. He has plenty of shade and sun, it is well balanced and he had lots of real and fake plants because hes in a 2' by 2' by 4' cage. I water him about 5 times a day, i think maybe he just sat in the sun for too long and then drank too much, like you said.

Thank you all for your input, I will definitely put one of my extra drippers on his cage with some ice for him just to be sure.
