No Sun, No Thank You!

My cham, parrot, and I were all out on the deck this afternoon basking in the beautiful sunshine. Suddenly, my cham climbs down the deck rail across the deck. I thought he was going to go to the ground for our daily walk. No. He walks over to the door to the house. I go over and sarcastically open the door. I'm like, "Go right on in, buddy!" And he does! He walked across the dining room, living room, and climbed back into his FR and sat under his basking light!

A basking light better than the sun? Strange.

Then I thought, WOW, that's pretty neat that he did that!

Then I thought. . . hmm. . .maybe he just wanted to get away from the bird and me .

The bird most likely freaked him out. If he had a tree to hide in he might of felt more secure. After all birds will consume a lizard if the size is right.

Yes, sdheli is correct, Phineas has lived next to the bird for 9 months with no problems. Maybe they don't quite "get along" but the cham is certainly not bothered. He sleeps right next to the bird cage, he has climbed into the bird cage, and when we are outside, sometimes he chooses to bask on top of the bird cage - with the bird right underneath him.

Maybe, but I can't I imagine what. For the past few days he has walked daily through three neighbor's yards to the street - I carry him across - then he climbs up the chain link fence in the park and watches the kids play basketball. He seems obsessed with the actual basketball. Anyway, kids come up to him, cars whizz by, dogs, strollers, etc. He just keeps watching that basketball. So, I'm not sure what could have spooked him. I think he is just in a bad mood because he is trying to shed and we'll, you know how that goes. . . He hasn't really thanked me for my extra mistings either. . .

Haha yeah who knows you need a mister set up on your free range like mine, mine turns the whole thing into a torrential down pour for a couple minutes and my guy will go nuts drinking water from everything he loves it haha

Yea, I have a mister set up on my FR also. Sometimes he loves it - sometimes, not so much!
