Hey guys, my friend just sent me this link, so I thought I'd share it here..
Before viewing the images though, I'd like you guys to know that I am from Colombia and I've always hated that the only thing people, in my opinion ignorant people, view from Colombia is the drug trafficking. When in reality, Colombia is an amazing country with some incredible wonders of nature. Anyways, I'd like you guys to view the images that Fredy Gomez has taken while traveling Colombia. Hopefully, it'll give you guys a glimpse of my country and why I love it so much, and get offended when people assimilate me with drug traffickers.

Actually I never hear much of Columbia =p So I def wouldnt catergorize u that way. It's the same way with here though... Im from Louisiana... and people assume most people around here are hillbillys and live in the swamps 0.0 lol.

Anyways these pictures are gorgeous!!

It suck being categorized like that.. An yeah, the pictures are freaking awesome.. If you keep going, theres one of a turtle which is my favorite.. Anyways, its Colombia, with an O rather than a U.. Hahaha no pun intended dude

And I thought Columbia was only famous for Juan Valdez and his coffee! And the people of Louisiana aren't hillbillies??? Shocking! (evil grin...just kidding) Of course, Canadians all live in igloos protected by the Mounties, you know! :)

Beautiful photos of so many different things! Looks like a pretty amazing country to me!

Hahahaa Juan Valdez madr an appearance in the movie Bruce Almighty and it was awesome. And yes, Colombia is incredible. The river that is there which has all types of colors is just like that. The water seems to change color because of the variety of algae that grows there. Its an amazing sight.

And i forgot to add, Canada is awesome! Ive been there twice, once to calgary and another no montreal. I lovr the mountains when it snows and the people are probably some of the friendliest folk ive met

You are completely correct, those photos show an incredibly beautiful country. What is the pink/red stuff in the water?

You are one of us and we don't discriminate on the forum. :) All are welcome here.

Laurie, the red/pink stuff is the algae. There is also blue, green, yellow, and a bunch of other colors which makes the Caño Cristales (the river) the color it is. Some consider it the most beautiful river of the world (I googled it last night lol)

Now that is a great advert for Colombia - we in Britain tend to think we have a good awareness of the rest of the world, and we mostly don't go judging on one exported product.
We do however like the Cocaine and are the biggest consumers of Colombian Coke. So thanks for the awe-inspiring pictures, and thanks for the lost weekends buddy ;)
