Normal behavior?

I went in to feed Tillman this afternoon and I noticed that while balancing on his branch, he was holding onto his hind leg. Now I've heard that holding their own legs is a bad sign. But he's never done this before and when I went to check in on him before leaving back to work, he was climbing around as usual, not grasping his own legs at all. is it normal for it to happen once in a while?

His supplementation is correct (D3 twice a month, multivitamin twice a month, calcium w/o D3 on daily feeding) and we changed his lighting to the linear after we got him. he goes outside daily for 15-20 minutes for some sunshine.

I think you should keep a close eye on him and if he starts doing it again, take him to the vet. It may have just been a fluke.

I wouldn't be too concerned if I were you. Like Camryn said, definitely keep an eye out, but in my experience they sometimes just grab onto their own legs by accident. Especially if they're trying to get around something and maybe can't clearly see what the easiest next thing to grab is. So they'll just kinda grasp at the air until making contact with something and sometimes that "something" is their own leg. Usually they'll correct the mistake very quickly, give you the side eye, act like nothing ever happened, and be on their way
