Normal behavior??

So my Senegal, Dewey, has always been very relaxed and usually hangs out in a particular spot in his cage. However, lately he's been a lot more active than usual, quickly climbing on anything and everything in his cage. It's almost as if he's exhibiting risk-taking behaviors, stretching to reach plants that are barely within his grasp, climbing upside down, and trying to climb on the mesh of the cage. I'm aware that this is normal, but he's usually not this active and for the past week he seems to have a lot more energy and moves so much quicker than before. He doest hesitate, when before he would take a while to get a good grip before continuing to climb. He also has been darting for the door of his cage if I open it. Any thoughts? I'm also curious if Senegals lay infertile eggs and at what age. I've read several different things, some saying they do and some saying that Senegals have to be mated with so I was wondering if anyone could answer that for me. Thanks so much!

I would say that it's totally normal. Did you change anything in your husbandry? This might be it. How long have you had him? Maybe if you got him a short time ago he "trusts" more were he lives
