Normal people just see damage

I just see some prime sticks.

I see a visit from an insurance adjuster (or a lot of work with a chainsaw).
Don't forget to check for bores & cambium tunnels (probably not the correct term). ;)

I sorta tried that. I went out to the back woods with a pruning saw, but everything I tried had bugs. :mad:They're a real problem around here. There are always other places to try, and other solutions.

I’m with ya! All of the oak trees in my subdivision are all slowly dying from mistletoe and being cut down. While I feel bad for the loss of the trees, I’m always excited to see all of the branches at the curb.

As kids we called em whirly-copters or some such for the way they fall,
and we'd split them at the seed end and stick em on our noses.

We were easily amused.
Ahh...you brought back a childhood memory. ☺ We called them whirly-gigs and yes, we too were amused easily. We never stuck them on our noses though...just watched them spiral down as they fell. I wonder if kids still do that?

Well, it's not too late... IF YOU DARE! Just pull them apart at the seed end to the length of the seed. There's a sticky substance inside that's good for about one sticking, but there was never a shortage of the things... ;)

Last I checked, kids are still kids. I think it'd be sad if they didn't do silly things like that anymore... :(

Yes, I’d love to but sadly I’m no longer in New England and I don’t think true maple trees grow in Florida. My dream is to move back ‘home’, but I’m probably stuck in the south.
