i just got my first cham and i notice that he rocks back and forth before every step he moves a lot and every time he takes a step he rocks back and forth with the leg hes about to move in the air is this normal?

Yes, it's the leaf walk, they do it when threatened to blend in with the leaves.

I LOVE that walk. They do it and it is SO funny. They're like "Maybe if I do this walk they won't see me...." LOL, never fails to make me laugh when I see it.
