after a previos thread i just posted thort this question might a good one..

over supplementing can cause a white crust to appear in and around the nostrils..due to the cham trying to dispures unneeded salts and calcuim.

NOW...

is it possible for this to block the nose of a baby cham and force it to open its mouth to breathe easier???

many thanks

lol... in this case, it is a bit unlikely to happen.
Any wheezing, crackling, or purring sound when he opens his mouth?

ive never experienced anything like a chameleon needing to open their mouth in order to breathe when having the white crust.

the white crust could also be because theyre thirsty.

how often do u offer water? some chameleons take longer for drinking. they might need to see the water moving much longer than other chameleons. some chameleons wont drink infront of ppl.

i would offer him/her a few hours of dripper time and a good misting twice a day (10 min) and a few shorter mistings thru-out the day.

dripper is what i use and seems to work best for my chameleons. misting is great for their eye cleaning and keeping up humidity, and plants watered.

what i do in the morning first thing, is turn my cham's drippers on. their cage is completely dry, the dripper is on, its the first water droplets of the day. they all go to their drippers for a good few minutes.
