i have a 7 month old panther chameleon and he has always been a good eater but recently he has slowed down. I have not changed anything about his feeding schedule but he will only eat about 2 crickets a day. Is this because the winter months? i wouldn't think so because nothing in his cage has changed. Is this normal? he still acts the same and looks healthy.

Hmm.. Have you even had his feces checked for parasites? That's always a good idea, also do you rotate feeder typed enough to keep him interested? Check his urates make sure they're nice and white.. Maybe some more experienced keepers can help you out

Sometimes during the cooler months they seem to "slow down", even my garbage disposal of a eater cham is leaving some food in his cup on some days. Alexander1 seem to hit the other topics.

I recently noticed something similar with my 5-6 month old Panther. Truth be told, I was beginning to get a bit concerned. Fortunately, the situation seems to have resolved itself this past weekend... Although I have no idea how or why? :(

It started last week with my Chameleon refusing Horn worms for a couple days in a row; which had been one of his favorite foods up to that point. I figured "no big deal", as they were probably just getting too big for him and/or he was getting bored of them. Then I noticed he was only eating 1-2 Super worms per day, instead of the 5-7 Super worms (plus other stuff) he usually eats.

I decided to change the types of food I was offering him. I ordered some Blue Bottle Flies and Green Banana Roaches; which haven't arrived yet. Plus, I bought some medium sized Crickets from a local pet store. Much to my surprise, the very first Cricket I put in the enclosure must've flipped a switch in his head because he started eating like a monster again... 10 Crickets and 7 Super worms later, I was feeling much better about the whole situation. o_O

I can't wait to see what these Blue Bittle flies and Green Banana Roaches do to him! :D
