Not eating at all for 5 or more days.

Good day, I have a 5 year old veiled male chameleon. A month ago I put moss on the bottom of his cage, I've read that's better for them. He was digging and digging and eating the Moss. I took the Moss Out,I took everything out of the cage. He has not eaten in a past 5 days or so. He is getting fluids. I've read about chameleons not eating for quite some time. How long does this Strike last for?

I was wondering that. Today, he looks good. Bright green. I bought fresh crickets. I only put a couple in there and I'll see if they're still in there tomorrow. It's hard to know how many crickets he eats because they could be in there for a long time or they get loose in a house. So it's hard to know if he's eating now.

Hello, I have not seen my chameleon eat in a less 6 days. The same old crickets are in there too. What is going on with him. How long can they go without eating.

If he was digging and digging are you sure you do not have a female?? Also if he/she ate the moss it most definitely could be impaction, which you will need to see a vet for asap. Do you have a picture of him/her?

Are you offering veggies? Double check this but I believe Kale is cham safe and is high in fiber. You can also try flying or fast moving insects. He may be bored with crickets. I wouldn't wait too long before a vet visit if you can find one that knows chams in the area.

He just sits at the bottom of the page. I would imagine that he must have ate one of his crickets because he's still alive. I never see him eat anymore. Enclosed is a pic

Did you remove the moss and reolace it with that substrate? I would get rid of that substrate ASAP. It can cause an impaction.
Has he pooped at all lately?

This morning he was laying at the bottom of the cage. They said that Moss was the best thing for his cage cuz it holds in moisture. So 3 weeks ago I gave it to him. He did eat it. The bark at the bottom of his cage I've had since he was little he never ate it. I've kept a close eye on him. This morning he was at the bottom of the cage freezing lethargic. So I held him for an hour he moved a little bit won't open up his eyes. He is 7 years old. I think they only live to be 5 years old. He's been healthy the whole time until a couple weeks ago could be he ate the Moss, or he's just dying of old age. Sad
