Hey guys. So I got a colony of Dubai's, I would really like to get the chams to eat them, but if I put them in they just ignore them :/ they are about 10 mo now, I put in a bowl, ignored, let them free which is what I do with the crickets... ignored. How do I get them to try them and Hopefully like them.

I put Dubai's in there about the same size as a large cricket so about half as big as an adult. I've also tried smaller. Nope.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank You

try not feeding the chams for a little until they get reall hungry and eat them and if you think thats alittle to cruel try to wiggle the roaches a bit until the cham gets interested. ill recomend doing this with tweezers and press alittle on the roach so it can wiggle around until you see the cham is interested. hope it helps :p and where did you buy your roaches?

When I got them I put them on the screen one by one where they moved a bit and they ate them right up - (I had to sneak them in the house so I didn't have many)

I'm having trouble with my chams eating them to I have just let them set in there and see what happens

You can shake the container until one pops on its back and then put a wooden shish kabob skewer in there to pick up the dubia. Then put the skewer with the dubia crawling on it in the cage near the Cham. It is hand feeding but maybe they will decide they love them after they get a taste. You know, like potato chips "you can't just eat one."

I feed dubia as my staple. I have had 2 chams now and none of them have had a problem switching over. That being said, I agree with the suggestions. Try hand feeding or letting them be available in a cup without feeding anything else and the will eventually come get them when they are hungry.

Also, A way to make them more appealing is to make the feeder cup with the screen in it so that they can climb and be more visible. I know someone posted it but I can't find it. It was the one where they too either a milk jug or a sunny D bottle and cut out the side and glued screen against the back. Love this idea, I am going to do this myself!

I order mine from kimbrellscoldblood.com Quentin is awesome to work with.

Here is a thread that has a few ideas for different feeder cups. I have had great success with the sunny d bottle, especially the one in that thread. I have tried about 6 different versions and this has been the most successful for me.

Yes, thank you! That was the thread I was referring to. I have sick kiddos today and haven't had the time to look back to find it.

No one has any recomendations?

I've heard threatening to turn off the chameleon's UVB and taking away his spray bottle often works! :D

On a serious note, I would have to suggest that you just not give him a choice. The chameleon will eat it when he's hungry enough.
