I have read a few threads about people that are worried about there chams only wanting to eat superworms. Well i just gotta say this big boy has only eaten supers for a year and has had no problems. I try and feed him everything. He will pick at silks and butters but he is a superworm eaten big boy. so I just don't trip on it anymore. And I don't think you should. just gutload and powder and enjoy your chams.

Amen mwebb! He is a gorgeous, healthy looking cham and I agree I think people stress a bit too much about things.!

I stressed on it for a while, And tryed everything to get him to eat SOMTHING else. But he has always been heathy so he got his way and everything is good. I gutload with all kinds of things and alway offer other snacks.

As long as they are gutloaded well they make excellent regular feeders. I personally like to keep the feeders mixed up w/ silks, super, dubias, and crickets. However, Lizardlover says he feeds his supers every day and has no issues either.
Good seeing you around Mike.

thats so nice to hear and he loooks really healthy. my cham wont eat anything else but supers at the moment he is ten months old and gone off crickets and locusts ive also tried silkworms, dubias butterworms but he is not interested turns his nose up at anything but the supers which he seems to love. i tried the whole not feeding him supers for almost a week just offering crickets and locusts and the other feeders and nothing he didnt eat a thing so i gave in in the end yesterday as was worrying about him not eating. he ate it almost straight away. im going to keep offering the other feeders aswell see if as he gets older he starts to like other feeders but not going to stress over it anymore.

do you you feed him every day with supers or every other day ?

mweb how old is your chameleon? Im glad he will is also getting silks and butters - a little variety at least!

While its certainly true that a chameleon can survive on superworms alone, and it is certainly true that well gutloaded superworms make a good feeder option, it should not be suggested that a diet of only superworms (or for that matter a diet that relies on any single feeder) is the optimal way to go. A wide variety of feeders is the best thing for the chameleon.

I don't suggest anybody just feed suppers. And i try not to but it seems he is in charg on this one. he will just not eat unless you give him something he wants.
