i don't think the picture does it justice the leaves are bigger than my hand

thanks Jan! I just cant believe how huge it is! sucks that most of his plants will be pothos but they seem to be the hardiest plant in the world.. they retain so much water never get root rot and grow so quickly. i am having a bit of anxiety about having to take the ficus, fake vines, and branches out. there's a billion zip ties holding it all together :/

I hate ficus. I mean they are gorgeous trees but soooooooo finicky. I have killed several! No matter what I try they always drop all of their leaves until they are dead! I got a schefflera and hibiscus in CJ's tank. I just order some of the ledges that are offered on the Dragon Strand site. I really wish I could have gotten a new cage. I've read many good reviews but I just cannot afford the cage plus shipping! I am trying to get my pool back up and running. It has not been fun (or cheap, had to get a new pump and electric cord)!

If the stick in the middle looks like bark on a tree, it molds fast, i would remove it.

CHEERS!

thats exactly what mine did was drop leaves until it was dead. it didn't start actually dying til i put it in the cage and i'm about 99% sure it died because it was too close to the UVB. I bought the tree and had it in my bathroom for almost a month and it was happy and constantly had new growth..my cage is 4ft and the ficus was 4ft exactly so the lights were right on top of it..

I am going to repticon in 1 week (YAY!)so i'm hoping dragonstands is there so i can get some ledges too!! theyre giving out free zoomed samples for VIP's too. Hoping i can find another plant or 2.

i have 2 umbrellas in his cage as well but they are very small still like only a little over a foot tall. i don't water them directly at all. turns out just the 5x/day hand misting of the entire cage is just enough for them. almost lost one to root rot when i was watering them directly at first :/ trial and error. but they are thriving, slowly now. i see people having more success with the smaller species of ficus. but i wont buy another. hate killing plants.....

I bought a 20" version of these pothos for my baby cage. This is a great idea. Pvc in the middle surrounded by coconut. No mold and excellent for humidity.

I saw pothos at the hardware store the other day with the same tall setups. They were a good 2 to 3 feet tall as well!

A lady at the nursery told me ficus hate being next to other plants and will drop leaves if so. I like how rigid ficus branches are but I agree with you guys and I'm considering other options myself like dwarf Schefflera. It's much cooler looking imho anyways...

I am constantly removing ficus trees from my chams cages due to leaf dropping, root rot, fungus gnats, etc.

However, I never have ANY issues with pothos.

Great idea, here. I'm going out on a mission to find a big pothos!
