Odd Carpet tail

Zippy is the strangest creature ever! I had him out this morning, and I have noticed before how long his tail is (moreso than Veiled or Jackson's tails) but he actually uses it as a 5th limb! He was sat on my finger and his tail was weaving and squirming all over the place (rather like an octopus' tentacle) as it searched for something to grip onto. It's quite bizarre but I find it really funny! I know chams use their tails to grip and balance, etc but I have never seen such an active tail before! Has anyone else with Carpets experienced this? He uses it to feel around an awful lot!

Waldo is not a carpet but he uses his tail a lot as well. Sometimes when I can't find him and he is trying to escape by hiding behind the blinds on the screen sliding door, I will see this tail swish back and forth trying to grip onto the screen from behind the blinds and it gives him away every time

My veiled literally hangs off a branch by his tail so he can shoot crickets out of his feeder cup. Quite amusing to watch with his 4 limbs stretched straight out in front of him. :)

my panther will violently swing his tail around for a place to grip when picked up (he very tame as well, so its not that he's mad, just like to use his tail alot i guess.)

Thanks for the replies! I find it rather amusing! The others have always used their tails in the more normal way for a chameleon. What Zippy does with his is so funny! He's an entertaining little chameleon, I love watching him. :D
