oh boy! I think we might have a Furcifer lateralis hatchling soon

One of the 2 Carpet eggs we have is starting to sweat! It was laid on 3/30/09 from a wild caught female.

The female came to us in less than ideal shape and very gravid. We only had a short time before she dropped all her eggs and passed away. We tried everything we could to make her well but it did no good. I think the stress of being wild caught and shipping when (very very) gravid was too much for her.

Anyway our of all the eggs she dropped only 2 looked ok. Now one is sweating!

I will keep you all posted if anything emerges

We are SO EXCITED! This is our first carpet to hatch. I can't believe how much smaller s/he then a panther hatchling. I mean, I KNEW he would be ... but to actually see it!

S/he is such an active baby. Seems strong and very healthy
