today I decided to switch the cage briefly of my panther and veiled to do a photoshoot of the veiled.
I brought the veiled upstairs and put him in the panthers cage, then I went to put the panther in the veileds cage and grab the camera, when i came back i was horrified
I use locker shelves in my cage to keep my plants elevated and dry.

there is a pick of the exact one i use.
as i was approaching the cage I see two huge bulgy eyes and a casque sticking out of the bottom of this thing, and to my surprise, my veiled had driven his casque through it and had it caught up on the other side...he then got pissed off and through his jugular out and was pretty much choking himself out.
Not only that, but to make matters worse his eyes were also one of the things keeping him stuck in there.
I tried to help him get free by softly closing his eyes, but the more I tried to help him, the more he puffed up and expanded, hurting himself in this lil square. his body fired up a bright orange yellow that i've never seen before. so much for taking pictures
eventually, after about 20 minutes of brainstorming and realizing he had really driven himself in there and there was no way to get him out without harming him, I went downstairs and grabbed the bolt/lock cutter and began snipping these wires out until i had him in his little square, i should have took a picture but i was too horrified, i wanted to get him out asap
so i snipped the corner and put him back in the cage but jesus christ wat an early morning scare!
do you guys think chameleons are fast learners? or do they learn by repitition
