One Eye Closed

Hi! So I just got this Veiled Chameleon about a week ago from Petsmart (yikes). He was in a super small cage with standing water. He looks heathy, from what I can tell. Although before purchasing him I did lots of research and I can remember reading that if they're eyes are closed its a huge health red flag. So when I first noticed, about two days ago, that he had only one eye closed I starting searching to see what was his diagnosis, what I came up with was a lack of Vitamin A, curious if anyone agrees. It seems logical due to the poor treatment he got from a pet store. Lack of nutrition. However, if you agree this is the case, should i go about with the smearing vitamin A in half drop quantities across a crickets back over a period of seven days? Or will the one eye closed correct itself with a good diet. I have him in a 16x16x36 size cage with a basking light and a UVB, basking 100 Watt, and UVB, 13 Watt, Its a Reptisun 5.0 UVB for clarity. I am now feeding him gut loaded crickets on Flukers High Calcium. Which claims to have Vitamin A. Please post any thoughts of suggestions you have as to why he is closing one eye. I have a mister system and i have sprayed indirectly at his eye so I do not think it is a piece of skin caught, however he did finished shedding about 4 days ago. Thank you!! His one eye is only closed until a noise or distraction comes about, if a cricket comes near, he will open it and follow perfectly.

Take that picture as u mentioned before, and think positive, everything happens for a reason, and there is always some solutions to improve n change as long the time will allow us to make it better before the reality kicks in.

yeah haha, i just cleaned yesterday tried to make things better so i'll look for somthing

My question for u is....do u want ur cham to open his eye asap?
If ur answer is yes, then my answer to u is yes and its worth to go see a vet right away,or we can continue here n keep on guessing and delay ur chameleons to reopen that eye when the time is ticking away,me and u both know how much u care on ur cham, and thats the reason u start this post to try to find a solution for the" one eye closed"
When a "chameleons specialist vet" take a look on that problem eye,he or she will have a solution for u right then,do keep us updated n get this thing done in the correct way.

Thank you so much and I will definitely keep you updated, however, please input your opinion on this. I only bought him 9 days ago, and I have a 14 day 'warranty', so if in doubt the vet says the chameleon will need a series of Antibiotics/Eyedrops/Potentially Toxic Deiting, would I be worth returing for a healthy chameleon at a different store? It may seem rude and unethical, however is rationally worth the fight away from the bias of emotion?

Ur welcome....,it not u being rude, its matter of how the petstore put out a none healthy cham in a tiny tank n waiting for an impulse buyer like u to walking in n pour ur heart out n bought the cham without thinking twice of the outcome ,since there is only 9days out of 14day warranty,I will definitely either get another healthy cham(it might be none, since the petstore treats them all in the same way) or get ur money (credit) refund, before the 14day expire n more headaches down the road like more vet bill and broken hearted when the cham doesnt go the way u expect to be,in the mean time ,read through the General guidelines on the resources tab in this forum

So when u walking to the pet store again,u can use ur freshly learn knowledge to prepare for ur next move or even turn around n walk away from the pet store n shop somewhere more reliable for ur next cham.
