Groovy I noticed has not been eating for a few days, I tend to leave him alone and only care for spraying and feeding. He has been lethargic going to bed early and one night a behavior Ive never seen him do before was hunt/eat at night one or 2 crickets...

Upon doing a wellness check since Ive noticed these symptoms/behaviors I took notice right away his grip was weak, when he gaped he has brownish saliva sticking in there and his eye looks as title mentioned "pink eyeish" gooey one was wide open the other had a narrow opening due to the gooeyness surrounding it.

I have given him water through oral syringe, rinsed the area with warm water and applied Terramycin to both eyes. As well as administered .01ml of Reptaide for now.

no pics for now since I've already done everything but tomorrow will be sure to upload pics of eyes and everything.
Tomorrow will do again as well with the Reptaide as well a pin drop of beta-Carotene 15 (Vitamin A)

Please any other ideas or diagnosis will help PLEASE respond to help Groovy and myself out better..

You said when he gaped there was brownish saliva in there? Get close and get him to open his mouth, when he does put your nose near his mouth and smell. If it stinks...... VET! If the eye gets worse, swells, or stays shut vet attention will be required. I've seen Chams have an eye issue from water getting dripped/sprayed into it and the Cham starts rubbing the eye on branches. Sometimes the Cham makes it a problem...:(

Like rubbing your eye if something gets into it, sometimes you make it worse and could reqiure treatment. Really petty and stupid, but it happens.

Yes he does rub his eye as well as stick something out inside and roll around inside his eye turret. Thank you for the response. Tomorrow I will check for mentioned smell I don't want to bother him anymore then I have too, also hes perched in a downward position as if looking for food but all the crickets are up around him inside the cage? Ill try a meal worm right now see if he takes it, THANK YOU for your response

remove all the uneaten crickets at night especially if he is ill. They might start nipping on him and you will have more problems. I would get him to a vet regardless and have him checked over whether his mouth smells or not, his saliva should not be brown.

Weak grip, brown saliva and eye infection are all problems that need veterinary attention and potentially antibiotics. By the time a chameleon shows physical weakness that is an indicator that it's very sick. And if mouthrot is present (brown saliva is never normal) then that needs to be addressed asap to prevent it from spreading to catastrophic levels.

Your killing me ferret-lol. I can only help people with what they say... Yes brown is bad, but i've met people that have never looked into Cham mouths until something seems off. They never say white:)

Where were you an hour ago-lol

I didnt want to get involved, but people were asking for help and want an answer soon. Worried, I've been there and know the feeling. So i tried, sorry....

bad new guy:(

I just woke up because I am working overnight ER right now. My days are all backwards. :p No worries, you're fine. :) I know people appreciate having some input as soon as possible. Keep reading and learning so you can continue to help.

No smell to saliva hes does not not seem dehydrated his cask* is rounded and he has always had a little tissue bulging out around the eye socket not alot though.
When I received him from the breeder he was banged up bad because of poor packing they had his cup sideways w/ a paper towel in for cushion i guess and worms I ordered along with him on top. Well because the poor packing (cup sideways) worms popped the cap off (no tape) and he was bouncing around in there until I got him. He had a black eye swollen and til this day it hasn't really healed there's always a bit or raw tissue sticking out inside his eye turret.
Breeder was contacted and they rushed me the Reptiade & Terymacin* which I am administering now, along with Flukners ReptiBoost to make up for lack of Nutrients because of not eating.
Brownish saliva was not brown today and I have seen it whiteish but the inside of his mouth is all tanish brown im not sure if its normal.
I will keep researching this isnt my first Cham but definitely alot more challenging then my last.
IT IS WINTER HERE ILLINOIS so surrounding environment is not idea but he does have 100w MVB bulb and (100w Red Heat--24/7) so he has warm spots he just rarely stays away and I guess likes to be cooler.

Ps sorry for being so long im just throwing out as much info as possible for people to understand more and help.

Pics as promised, the is one of 2 general overall appearance left and right sides, 1 of busted up RIGHT eye (since I received him tissue that has never healed) and 2 inside mouth.
Hope this gives better understanding to everyone and THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Looks a little ehh... I would drop a little coin and get him checked out, the eyes seem off to me. I'm sure you payed a chunk for him, protect your investment as well as provide the best for the animal. Thats just me though...:)

Was this animal an import? Do they still import? *** Been out the Cham game for a while before someone says something smart, cause back when i was buying imports there was always the threat of stopping it.***

I would do the following:

1. Set up an appointment with a Vet...ASAP.
2. Shower chamber to try and get him hydrated.
3. Terramycin for the eye.

And make sure you leave the cage clean(bacteria and uneaten feeders)

Hope everything works out well.

*Imports for Panther Chameleons are still strong.*
