Cham

24x24x18, 60watt bulb, repti glo 5.0 uv bulb, both bulbs are 3-4 inches above her mesh on terrarium. She is 2.5 years old and always lived in the tank jv gad her 2 weeks

New chameleons will be restless and scared and will roam their cage even walk upside down on the screen above. They tend to settle down after a few weeks once they realize you aren't going to eat them. Make sure she gets food and water daily but keep the interactions with her to a minimum until she calms down.

fill this out so much easier for members to help you out

Looks like I'll be gettin a bigger tank 2muro. The problem I find with this forum is ignorance and each person says tanks the right size and the tanks too small etc and then people say the books are wrong etc WTF

WOW if this Forum bugs you so much, with its ignorance why are you here? I find it to have a lot of knowledgeable people. I am no Cham expert but I have a few now, and I can tell you that cage is too small for an adult.

What happens is that there are different sizes for different stages of age. A 3 month baby is better in something smaller than what a full grown male needs, for example. That cage is fine for a younger cham, but at her age she'll be a lot happier in something bigger. I agree there's hundreds of different tidbits of information floating around but it's all there if you know how to search for it.

I hope you're not discouraged from using the forum :(

Hello ... Just want to say everyone here as alot to offer . Don't be too judgmental on who are "better" to receive info from. And don't expect to receive respect out of nowhere. Respect is earned, and mostly everyone here is kind enough to already show you respect and politeness . And to say there are ignorant people only shows how ignorant you are and not give benefit of the doubt and give people a chance . And i apologize if I come out blunt but let's all try to get along cuz in the forums we help and appreciate one another.:)

Hi Dropanuke,

I find that my females get sometimes restless and climb the screens before laying eggs, being that she's 2.5 yrs it could be possible. Do you have a proper laying bin available for her?

Ditto.

The thread title alone got me a bit hot under the collar

I think most of the people here are very polite and try to be helpful. We are all working together to care for a high-maintenance exotic reptile, and there is probably nobody who knows everything about these guys. Someone may make mistakes even as they try to give suggestions (I know I have, and no I am not at all claiming to be even close to an expert, I'm on my first cham!) but the point of the forum is for someone who knows better to give other forum members, regardless of skill level, help on those specific matters with which they are more familiar. If someone finds that they have made a mistake they should be thankful for the help they've received and make the proper corrections and/or apologies.

A person asking for help should accept that they may have to wait for multiple answers, because everyone makes mistakes and different members of the forum have various ways of treating the same issues (in some cases you may have to use a system of trial and error to find the solution that works for you and your cham). Do not automatically assume that an entire forum full of people do not know what they are talking about simply because they all give different answers. I would be completely lost on how to take care of my little guy if not for these people! We are working with text here, not words that we can hear or images that we can see. It is easy for misunderstandings to occur.

That being said, is there any way perhaps that you can get a video of the behavior that concerns you? If not, a sequence of pictures would be helpful too. :)

This is about chams not people. I signed up to this forum blind and unsure how it really works and people would judge me on me making mistakes and cunning ways to get answers. I aplogise even though iv made my mark as Im here to recieve help and hopefully find someone with same problem
