I'm about to get the lll reptile 18x18x36 cage with all the other stuff, but I forgot about the drainage system! Im not sure how this works,I have read about cutting a hole in the bottom and taking some plastic piping into a bucket. Im not sure if this will work since the cage is probably flat on the bottom and this would work better if it had a funnel design. I was also thinking that a drainage pan would work, but im not sure how. Also, I plan to take a rubbermade container and put some mesh over it and angle the big dripper over it so that it collects in the container. That should take care of some of the water, but what about the drainage from misting? is it possible to order something that wont cost an arm and a leg or is it better to do a diy? Also, i would love some pictures of drainage systems if anyone's got'em!

Thanks!, lovin the forum, the only downside is I dont get any work done!lol

oh and i was thinking about it draining out of the side and not the bottom, so i can just put it on a table and not have to cut any holes, my idea being, a drainage pan that empties to the side and not out the bottom.
What are people's thoughts about this concept?
Thanks,

I was thinking of this. pic4.jpg

How rigid is the cage bottom? Would a heavy plant pot or some rocks placed in the center cause a little bit of sag that would channel the water to your drain? You could also tip the entire cage very slightly so water runs to one side (it wouldn't take much at all), and run a bead of silicone along the cage bottom edges to form a channel that directs the water to your bucket.
