Open mouth and vibrating body

My cham opens his mouth wide and his whole body vibrates. It looks as though he's having a good old stretch but what do I know. I've only seen him do it twice since I got him.Has anyone got an idea what this could mean?

Mine does this on occasion.. still haven't got any good replies on why. I thought mine was constipated or trying to pop off her skin(shed) but she was doing this after she shed. So idk maybe its a stretch?? Anybody?

Maybes its normal? I've never found anything when I do a search. I'm sure its not cause of a threat I've seen mine do it from far away. Maybes its a yawn and stretch? Id like to know.. I've seen her yawn sometimes and other times its a yawn and wiggle.

No problem! Glad I could help a little.
Does your always stretch his face up and back some and maybe a little side to side motion too? If so, you may want to watch the size of food you give and just stick to more smaller sized bugs and maybe make the size of the droplets of water smaller?
My guy seemed to have more trouble swallowing anything from the very beginning and vet told me that maybe his throat was smaller or something? He was "special needs" in more ways than just that and I just had to watch him a bit closer than most. After he got sick and couldn't lift his head as much, sometimes he would end up breathing in some of the water an blowing it back out his nostrils!

This is the only reply I've got on the subject.

Oh that makes sense, my guy doesn't even chew though he pretty much just swallows

Thanks for the comments guys.
All I know is, it can't be because he's threatened by me as both times I've witnessed this behaviour I've been sat watching tv and not close to his home at all. It only lasts a second and kind of reminds me of a cat when it yawns and stretches, which is why I'm assuming/hoping that is all it is. x

My two month old does it when the lights come on and he starts basking

Every single one of my Chams do this when the lights go on and they start basking!

Its like a yawn with a shiver!:D

I'll get a video tomorrow! I'm 100% sure it's the same behavior i've observe!

Sounds like its just normal. Mine does it basking too but not always and she has learned to chew very well before swallowing lol.I thought at first she was trying to pass a big poo.

Cool, thanks, i'd like to see a vid of this behaviour.

Maybe they are inflating themselves with air for more skin exposure to the light. I have seen my panther do it twice while basking.

This is one of my female Ambliobe panther. This was about 5 minutes after the lights went on.

She flaten out her body and directed it towards the heat source. Shortly after (right b4 she switched sides). She did the "yawn", "stretch" and "shimmy". lol

I think it's just what it looks like, a nicee good stretch after a cool, stiff nights sleep.

I'll try to get more video of my other Chams doing the same.

My chams do it too. I believe it's just a yawn and sometimes a streatch and shimmy thrown in, like we do ;)

I see my veiled do it every day.
