Um, need more information in order to answer your question. Size, species, and age of your cham? What are the temps and conditions along the way on your trip? Generally, chams don't like to leave their territories. They are stressed out by changes in their surroundings and you take the risk that it will get too hot, too cold, too dry along the way. You could never leave it closed up in the car (like during a rest stop or meal) during the day especially in summer. They really don't want to go along. It is usually much kinder and safer to train a friend to care for one while you are gone or board them with an experienced vet or maybe a fellow herper.

defiantly not a good idea. to find a cham sitter via friends, family, local breeder, veterinarian, somebody. that is alot of stress to subject a young cham to.

he's a veiled cham, and he's fairly small, i'm not sure what his age is since the pet store didn't tell me, but he's fairly young (he's in my pro pic) the trip is 3 hours long, and i'm going to new york, im not really sure what the temperature is there. my mom doesn't feel comfortable having people coming into our house, also says that it would be way too much money to have them come more than three times a day. i don't have enough money to get a misting system, i've been saving up, but it hasn't been going too well. and since i only have two other pets ( snake and fish ) that can go for a week alone, we've never really had a problem. also, i would never trust my friends. after i told them about him, they didn't care/ really cared. my friends that have come over and saw him, always are like, OMG CAN I TOUCH HIM. i tell them no, but they never drop the subject, and get all whiney and stuff, and i know they would do something stupid with him. plus, most of them have annoying siblings that are younger, and if i gave him to them ( like brought his cage, cage over to their house) who knows what their siblings would to him. my only option here would be bringing him, and i'm just super worried, and all the things people are saying about how he can die from the stress aren't really helping :/ starting to wonder if even getty him was a good idea :( ( not saying that's what you said, but lots of others have said things like that)

I like that container, but my suggestion would be to rig it up with crickets, then place that container inside your cham cage. Rig a perch that hovers above the crickets in the container so cham can get to the crickets, but they can't get out. Leave plenty of food/water cubes for the crickets.
Saturate the dirt in the plants really well before your trip, and make sure your a/c is set on the warmer side so it doesn't suck so much humidity out of the air.
Make sure your lights are on a timer, you've got your dripper filled, and you should be good to go.
Sure, ideally misting would be best, but staying home without it is still probably better than traveling.

please just leave him at home. the container you made looks like it would fit him and not much else in there. high levels of stress, no roaming room, constantly changing environment and constant movement is very damaging to a Cham especially one that young. its always a good idea to have a plan before you have an animal that needs as much care as a Cham does. chameleons aren't pets that can or should be taken in the car unless for a vet visit.

you would do far more damage taking him with you then you would leaving him at home with a dripper, misting and lots of food

He made another post about this and people here actually recommended that he take him, that's why he's asking this. His options are basically bring along, or leave it home with no misting. IMO both options are pretty bad. At home, very high risk of dehydration which, from what I gather, is a death sentence for Chams. On the ride, lots of stress. The trip could be doable with a larger container I think, just wrap his cage up pitch black so he sleeps the whole way. Where are you staying? Like a hotel or someone's house or ? If it's somewhere with a steady temperature, a few days shouldn't be a problem. Then on the return trip wrap his cage up again. Get some ice packs if it's going to be hot. If you have to make a stop and leave him in the hot car, put some ice packs around his cage, but be careful not to freeze him. It'll just simulate a night time temperature drop. Make sure to wrap his cage in something breathable as well.

i actually did bring him... he is doing really well, and i brought his heat lamp along so the temperature is good. we are only up here for three more days, so i think he will be alright. for the car ride he slept most of the time, i did wrap a towel around so he couldn't see much.
