Orange guard for Ant Control?

I wanted to know if someone uses this product and how safe it is for their Chams. I have a serious ant problem. They keep sneaking in to eat cham debris. Seemingly overnight. They are trying to colonize in my plants. I need to find a repellent that works. (Hawaii is not always paradise)

I think you can buy ant traps/ they are little black squares with poison in, you set them on the floor & the ants crawl in and eat & die! You can even set them outside to! My friend used them for black ants in the yard

Do not use the ant traps around your chams. They say very specifically not to use in a food preparation area which I take to mean not to use around my Chameleons. Basically they will be hauling poison into your enclosure.

Orange guard is awesome. I use it all the time and have never had a problem using it in the same room as frogs, fish, and Chameleons. With that said I still use caution. I do not spray the enclosures directly and pay attention that I'm not spraying into the air where orange guard mist will drift directly into an enclosure. I spray the base of the walls and any ant lines I see. Orange Guard kills ants exceptionally well but also works great for fleas and other nasty pest insects you want gone. I always have a bottle or two on hand for any ant attacks.

If you have cages up on 4-legged stands or tables, I've seen people set the feet of the stands in containers of water. the ants try to crawl onto the cages via the feet, so they end up drowning in the containers. It might be worth finding cage stands with 4 separate legs for this reason.

I personally think setting each leg in a little bucket of water is messy and pain in the behind. I personally don't want stagnant water in my house. A better physical barrier alternative is duct tape sticky side out around the table legs. Easier to change out when it gets nasty without having to move everything and less likely to ruin your furniture / make a mess on your floor. You can also use this method on furniture that doesn't have legs, it just takes more tape...

They are actually climbing up the mister tubing and/or the walls, so that is not really an option. But if I use a repellent outside of the cage, the only things that can eat it is ants. My feeders are kept in a separate location.
