Osiris has a new Playground!

The only thing I don't like about that setup is....that it is not mine! That is a great setup you have there, good work.

I have a question about the coco fiber ... I have been researching Poison dart frogs ..and one of the plans I have is creating the background you have there.... Do you have any advice or a place I could find a instructional ? ... Did you use "great stuff" ? Did you put the coco fiber on while it was still curing? ... What is the process you used? it looks very good by the way...

there is nothing that pleases me as much as when someone tries to act like a no it all and they are wrong, ahhh good stuff lol

I used this link for all my research pretty much. I did use "great stuff" but I let it harden first then I applied a black silicone that comes in a tube like liquid nail and you need a caulk gun to use it. The biggest advice I can give was given to me from someone on this site also and that is WAIT for the coco bedding to be Completely Dry! If it even has a tiny bit of moisture then it will not stick to the silicone after it dries.

Im interested in the touch screen, sounds nice and reliable when reading temps and what not. How do you use it...what programs are with it and such. But nice job man...the back wall with the perch vine looks awesome. Just looks like it needs some screen doors!

Interesting thread :)

Nice work.....got a lot of useful ideas from your project. Is the cocoa fiber sticking on there through time and usage? Does it flake off a little at a time? Very cool :)

well the past week that I have been misting it everyday and there dosen't seem to be any run off of the coco bedding. However it did wash away a few spots that missed getting siliconed very well. Other than that so far so good. But again my mister dosen't really soak the back wall some places get wet due to run off from the plants but for the most part it stays pretty dry. It is really easy to see when it is wet cuz it changes to a really dark color.

It is just a plain old touch screen lcd that hooks up to a PC. I use a program called iNet to view my temps and such and another program called ICMS to organize the data and communicate with my controller.
