Our Best Friends dog for a day

Today and tomorrow my husband and I are doing volunteer work at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, in Kanab, UT. We got to bring a dog back to the hotel with us for the night. Her name is "Julip" and she's a perfect dog. I wanted to share a few pics of her.

Aaaaawww. That's really great of you. We do greyhound rescue/adoption. It's always nice when people give up their time to help our four-legged friends.:)

One more stop on Jannb's Nationwide Animal Love Tour.

Very cool Jann! Isn't this the famed animal rescue from TV that rescued Michael Vicks fight dogs? She looks like such a sweet pup.

I LOVE dogs... But have never had the space to have my own since I moved out of the house, until recently when I moved in with my new roomate who has a 10 month old male Rotweiller who is the coolest, most well behaved pup ever. The companionship that a dog provides is really something else.

Yes, it is. They still had a few of the Vick dogs there but most had been adopted. They have over 800 cats, 700 dogs, the bunny house, bird house, pot belly pig house and a BUNCH more on over 3800 acres.

Good eye Joe!:D

Thats the first thing I thought! I am addicted to Nat Geo, and Dog Town is a great show, absolutly wonderful things they do there for the animals!:)

Sure looks like your "Animal Tour" is going great Jann!:D

She is a pretty dog, I am sure Red would love to meet her too..... hint hint...:D

Saw a sad/happy program on TV a couple of nights ago about the rescue of people's abandoned pets in Louisiana after Katrina hit. It was so good to see how many animals were rescued but so sad to see how many didn't make it and the terrible conditions they had been living in until they were rescued.

So are you going to keep Julip?

Gotta love the pits! They just make the best dogs. Wonder what she is mixed with.

Mine is a mix pit but takes after the pit. The only thing is either she wont or can't lock her jaws. I'm kinda on the fence but think she won't. She is the sweetest dog I've ever met.

I grew up with a 120 lbs Staffordshire. He was also one of the best dogs I've ever had. And a 120 pound pit commands respect! His head was so big he could pop a basket ball.

No, we can't keep Julip. We had to return her this morning before we began our work there. It was hard to take her back because she was so good. She was just perfect! We are a long way from home and have several more stops and then fly back. We really don't want another dog with our chams.....they free range. We are very lucky that Red gets along with them so well. I'm sure a good dog like Julip will be adopted soon.

Best Friends still has Katrina dogs. I walked 3 of them today.
