Our Engagement, w/a nod to the Jacksons

Very cool, Congrats! Two wild chams and she said yes to the proposal..sounds like one hell of a good day!

Two years later and we're back in Hawaii for Christmas. There goes all the airline miles we've racked up!

We just love the hike up Olomana on the island of Oahu. There is so much wildlife and the best views ever!

Just starting the hike around 730 in the morning!

Hitting the trail. Lushness ahead. We are sooo not worthy!

No clue what this was. Looked like a giant worm with a spade head!
Anybody know what this is?

Looking for chameleons and other critters!

We didn't see any chameleons this time, but I imagine the high winds are partly to blame. My old technique of finding a spot to sit and wait for movement while I scan the trees didn't work. Everything was moving because of the wind. We did however spot several wild pigs, orchids and moss galore, guavas, passionfruit, mongoose, and a poison dart frog!

There are some occasional steep climbs where you must use ropes. Don't take grandma on this hike!

By the way, I am offering to take anyone on this hike rain or shine, night or day ANYDAY if you are willing to fly me over from California. ;)

Here are some shots that I found on the net using the image search tool that a friend and I built. The tool dynamically searches all the best picture sites such as Google, Bing, Flickr, etc and puts them all on the same page. It's http://www.pixegami.com - pix + image spelled backwards

Try it for the word Olomana or for Hawaii Jackson Chameleon

Chad that is so great that you just went back. I do love a romantic man & I am thinking so does your wife. Happy anniversary.

What a wonderful story! And beautiful pictures!

I'm happy I found this thread with the two year update! I love things like that so much!

And how lucky you were to see those Jacksons! I hope it proved to be as good an omen as I think it is! :-D

The worm with the wide head is a hammerhead worm (land planarian). Unlike many worms they are not beneficial but actually eat/dissolve earthworms that are beneficial. Handling it may irritate your skin if you happen to be allergic.

Awesome, thanks buddy! It's been a long time since I've heard from you!
