hey guys so I have been looking around at chams seeing which I wanted next i just discovered Oustalet chams my questions are simple just things like how different are they from veils and if there is a big difference what are they also i wanted to know what kind of colors they get and their size that they can come in. any info you guy can give me would be awesome

that's awesome lol im guessing then that they would need a large cage can anyone tell me how their attitude is? Like if they are like veils or are they nicer?

I know if you live in flordia a big cage outsixde will be good for them because they are wild in the Everglades and that area

I I've in Oregon way to cold here for that I take my chams out when it's sunny but i wouldn't leave them out there.

Well if you find out any info let me know I wanna make sure I know everything about them before I get one.

All I've ever noticed is that they are one of the duller cham species in color. Usually resembling bark and rocks, but that's all I know about them

color isn't a big thing to me I have a veil who's colors are going to be awesome now im just looking for a big Cham.

i have 3 extra large females that are 24 to 28 inches long--females are usually lime green when they are younger and dull green for older females--also have 30 plus babys left from 4 clutches of 100 plus eggs

i currently have 3 femalesthat range between 24 an 30 inches-- they are very easy to care for---mine love the big hornworms---i recently hatched out 100 plus babies and have 30 left--

Ive got an Oustie and love him! He is a little guy right now though. They do not get any bright colors. They are from Madagascar and they like it dryer than other chams. Which makes care for them a bit easier. You can google image them to see the colors but its mostly tans and browns.

They are known to be gentle giants were as veilds are known for being a bit grumpy. Every cham is different and not all veileds are grumpy but Ousties are know for their easy going relaxed attitude.

They are one of the largest chams out there. They have the longest bodies but others out weigh them by a bit. They are also considered old world chams and im not sure what that means exactly but i just consider them to be dinosaurs lol.

There are a few pics of baby Tomo at this thread

I think old world means old growth forests, vs new world means new growth fields.

You guys are starting to scare me with lengths. Mine is already the size of my adult panther at 13-14"(go on try to uncurl that tail while measuring), using the law of squares a 28" male would weigh 8 times as much as mine...

Hey Snook can we get some pics of your males next to common objects for size comparisons?

well if I was going to raise it inside what size cage would I need? And yes I know of the veiled temper lol typhoon my male is very grumpy haha.

If just want a big one look up giant mellowed chameleon I think it is the biggest you can get

lol I don't think I need one that big I have enough room for the Jackson im getting and a big one that im gonna order soon.
