Can anyone give me a run down of the differences between the two? i have what i thought was an oustaleti but someone brought it to my attention that it may be verrucocus. when i look on the internet it's just so much mish mash that i can't figure it out, and was wondering if maybe someone can pin point the visual, behavioural differences, i'm not sure how to post pictures or i would. i might try later to night to get a picture on...

Thanks so much for your help.

I found some pics of this guy. I'm pretty sure he is a verrucosus, aka giant spiny, aka warty chameleon. ;)

A strong visual and dead giveaway (male) is the massive "spikes". The under-belly also had those lines that look like a river forking off.

They're not heavy water drinkers and prefer a lil warmer and drier climate. They grow big! You'll need big feeders like Dubias, hissers, large hoppers, horn and silkworms.

Supplement schedule is pretty much similar to panthers/veileds.

Compare the temporal scales (the "cheeks") between the two. In verrucosus the scales are proportionately much larger.

maxttu, are these pictures of yours sub adult? mine looks to be about the same size as yours. He's super friendly and yes loves bigger food he downs hornworms. lol I have had him for about three months and never once saw him drink. but i spray him twice a day, when i spray my veild. i also have a male veil as well so i treat them similar. Any place you can point me in for really good info on this species? that would be great thanks so much for you info so far.
