I ran outof crix, i have about 40 - 60 superworms left, and was wonder

Can i use superworms?

3 of the local stores will not have crickets til Friday, so 4 more days..

Gah... so irresponsible of me to run out, i usually keep it around 40 crickets and then get more, i never run out :eek:

Provided your chameleons love them, why not?
you don't have to feed them with crickets all the time.

be careful...he may form an addiction to superworms!!!

My guy did anyway, He LOVES supers, and ive been having one heck of a time getting him back on crix. I put a few supers and a few crix in his cage and he only eats the supers!!!

O well, to each his own right?

Good reason to breed a few things yourself, you'll always have more than one feeder on hand :)
Supers will be fine for five days (the four days wait plus the gutload time)

Awesome Thanks Sandra... i am getting my stick insects - sometime this week, had to be shipped from USA - And then ill have those 2 , id still like a bigger variety then 2... but my mo will NOT allow roaches

Suggestions Are open

p.s id love something easy to breed - Virtually no work - as i am going to be busy when i start work again, i dont wanna have to keep moving them and stuff... I could breed my own crivckets, but they take LONG ive heard

Thanks all

I agree

I have recently started my own colony of Dubias and have yet to run out or need to make a last minute trip. You can also order crickets online as well. They are, of course, more in bulk than what you would buy locally but int he long run, they are more cost effective. Here, they go about 11 cents each. Online, i can find them for 5 cents each. I also have a friend who has beardeds so we order them in bulk and split the cost. I know Dave carries mixed in a 100 for 5.95 plus shipping (www.georgiabugs.com). And supers are fine. I was told no more than a few a day for an adult as they are high in fat. I give Leo 2-3 every other day.

Are supers high in fat? What is the issue with supers that you can't use them as a main feeder as long as they are gut loaded?

That what I was told by Chris when I bought Leo, to limit his Super intake as they are fatty.

One of my chams mainly eats supers as a staple. He wont touch Dubias and has to be in the "mood" for crickets which is not very often no matter how hungry I let him get  I just gut load the supers really well and mix it up with a few silk and horn worms.

The other 3 have Dubias and crickets as staples along with silk and horn worms. I don't see any difference in his health than the other 3 and he has been like this since about 12 months old. I know there are other members on this forum that have the same issue with their chams and supers.
