Hiya!:)
I've always wanted a chameleon, and now I got the money to do so. I want to get a veiled male, but I have a few questions.

First of all, I'm going to be moving soon, so is it alright if chameleons go on planes? I know they can be used as carry on luggage, but I want him to be ok and not die of stress on the way there. The male I plan on getting is about 2 months old. The flight wouldn't be too long, but would he be ok?

Also, what's the temperature they have to have to survive? I've been reading up alot, and the only thing talking about temperature really has to do with the light bulbs. Is that their main source of heat besides sunlight?

Finally, could you tell me what's the best for his diet? I know the whole insect thing, but what's the best for the vitamins he'll need? One lady had a vid saying she has "Vitamin Spray" that she sprays on her cham.

If there's any other information you could provide me with I'd really like to know.:)I've wanted a cham for a loooong while, and I'd like all the help I can get.

Thanks,
Kite:cool:

I think the best thing to do would be wait untill you get to where your going and then setup rather than get one now and worry about transporting it later. Although I'd imagine it would be ok transporting it, I don't know the laws about how or where on a plane though.

A normal lightbulb is all you need for basking, just experiment before hand with different watt bulbs to get the correct temps.

the flight seems a very stressful journey.
Why don't you hold on from buying chameleon UNTIL you get to wherever you're suppose to get and have the chameleon shipped there by the breeders.

Also, one fatal mistake that people can do is purchasing chameleon on a whim. Preparing the enclosure before you buy the chameleon will help your chameleon to survive.

I am very skeptical with vitamin spray. so, please research a lot before getting a chameleon.

Hope that helps

Hiya! :)
Thanks alot for all the info. I've been reading up alot. Since I'll be moving again after this first move :p I've decided I'll wait. As much as I want a chameleon I really don't want him to get hurt. :)Thanks alot for everything. I'll definatly come back here in the future once I get one.
