Wondering if anyone on the board has a pacman frog? If so, I would like to pick your brains!
I have Hugo, we have had him almost 2 months. He is an albino and while fat and seemingly happy, he doesnt seem to be growing. He is still about the size of a quarter which is what he was when we got him.
Is there a pacman frog forum like the chameleon one?

it takes a few months to grow noticeably...i fed mine crix till he was big enough for pinkies then i gave him pinkies then he got big and hibernates through most of the year...mine is actually very nice....i love to hear it chirp for the 5-10 min it would chirp at exaCctly 11pm at night lol... now my mom take care of him in GA he eats crix and he is hibernating...dont disturb them when they do this...it can take months for them to wake up....never fear that it is dead even if its hard and un responsive

Ok good!
Hubby keeps asking me if something is wrong with him because he hasnt really grown. But, I tidied up his cage today and checked him over. He is fat and seems happy. I thought something was wrong with an eye, hence the heavy-duty checkup BUT.... it was just because he is albino and the light was hitting it funny.
He eats baby crickets for now, not that I have seen him eat them at all but they disappear and he is fat SO......
Hubby cant wait to feed him pinkies.... once it gets to that stage.... it isnt my job! YUCKO!LOL

if its the size of a quarter feed him 3/4 crix their entire body is the stomach....that would help him grow also..the literallt jump bite gone eat so if the prey is too small they will sit and wait for larger to walk buy, i got mine at a nickel size and was told to feed him 3/4

Ok, we got Karma medium crickets and they are pretty varied in size. Could I pick out a few of the smaller ones and toss those in Hugos cage to see if he will eat it?

sure....the frog will generally eate anything that moves

Hoppers taste umm ummm good

Well, that was fun.....
I got 3 small ones out and tossed them in his cage to see.

My question is..... WTH looks like a giant cricket and has wings, pale ones?

We have one of those cricket keeper things and after 5 min. of trying to chase small ones around the bottom, over egg cartons, etc. I decided to dump a tube into my hand 1 at a time. Large go back in the cage, small went into Hugo cage.
Out pops a HUGE thing. Startled me and I dropped it back into cage! So, now that I look at it.... it looks like a GIANT cricket... at least twice as large as the biggest one and has dry papery, pale wings. Is it a parent cricket or what?

Crickets moult..which means when they grow they crawl out of their exo skeleton ofthen twices as big as they were before a cricket will do this 7 times mate lay eggs and die. i like feeding the adult freshly moulted crix to my chams i feel they get more nutrition and that they are eaiser to digest...i also like the way they feel so soft.. then hey dry out and look like all the rest

Lmao I watched this happen last night. It looked like the cricket was giving birth to a dead cricket or something and I had no idea was going on until after it happened. I've never seen them do that it was quite weird to watch lol. Then this morning i woke up and all the crickets were their usual colors so I guess they don't stay white for long.
