OK, DONT PANIC, this is kinda hard to explain, but im sure keepers have seen this, once a day for about a week, usually in the morning, my chameleon would open his mouth and kinda ....shake his body/head...? almost like when you stretch your body in the morning when you wakeup and at the verge of it, you shake lol... Anyways, he did this for about a week, everyday usually once a day from what I saw. He hasn't done it in about 3 weeks, atleast I haven't seen it... He eats like a champ, 5-10large roaches/crickets daily. Drinks regularly, this isn't my first cham, so I am not new to them whatsoever, I just thought this was ODD.. and was curious to see what this may be? It did bring a small concern to me, but I waited it out an he has been GREAT! super strong grip, amazing sight, shoots his tongue like lightning, absolutely healthy chameleon. Very colorful, no sunken eyes, super friendly, will walk right out of his cage.

Did he shed by chance after doing this for a week? They will do that when they are getting ready to shed I have found. Like they are getting ready to break the skin away when they do actually shed. That is just why I think they do it. If he did not shed, then I have no idea! lol I can tell you I have seen it many times and it is nothing to worry about. And btw you have a very handsome boy there!

I have had a couple 'yawn' in the morning, as lights turn on, in preparation to feeding. They also 'align' their tongue, kinda'. Funny to watch. Only a couple do this. Morning ritual before breakfast.

Hey Sean,
It's funny because his brother and sister do this almost every morning ,I chalked it up to growing pains, just stretching out when the lights come on .
He is looking awesome I am a proud grandpa?lol

I am unsure if it was before a shed, it more than likely was, he has shed 3-4 Times since I've had him in just a month in a half. I figured it wasn't much to worry about, but thought I would ask just to get an idea of what it could be. Thank you guys for the replies, checkmate, you should be, he's awesome =)
