panther chameleon enclosure issues, need help please!

Sorry but I disagree with your mother a cham isn't a product it's an animal and it's up to you to research it's care before you look into bying one. However I think it's mean of him not to give you advice and irresponsible of him to try and get you to pay for the cham when you might not be able to house it properly. The problem is though you mentioned earlier that he told you to go to his website when you asked about equipment and on their there's a very detailed page on housing and lighting it even mentions the exact lights you'd need down to brand name. So I think you're being unfair on him. Having a quick look I don't think anyone said another type of caging would be superior to mesh depending on location only that other types could work but a mesh would be better.

I understand why you feel frustrated with our answeres. I'm only a few years older than you are and when I was in college I remember saving all my EMA money (money you get every week in the UK for school supplies) because I wanted a savahna monitor. When I saved all the money though I really underestimated the amount of money I'd need for equipment so I started to try and find ways round it. My idea was to buy an adult and free roam him and although many people said it wouldn't work it took me a long time to accept it because I had saved up for so long and had my heart set. I did accept it eventually though and concentrated on finding a job. I never did get a sav although I'd love to one day.

I hope you enjoy your alligator lizard never seen them in person their quite rare here in the UK I think. None of us are trying to come off as being hostile I assure you. I think perhaps we havn't told you what you wanted to hear and therefore disapointed you but I feel like we only gave you good info. Not sure if you'll even come back and read my reply but I wish you the best and hope you don't loose your enthusiasm for chams.
