Panther chameleon not eating

Hi, I have a male panther chameleon he's about 6 months old and about 30cm from nose to tip of tale. He has stopped eating this week, I feed him 2 crickets and 2 locusts every day with treats of wax worms but at the min he will only eat waxworms. I've tried Dubia roaches but he won't try them, I've even gone back down on the size of the locusts an crickets incase they where to big but still nothing. So at the moment he has a mix of crickets locusts dubia roach all different sizes but doesn't seem bothered. So frustrating

Hunger strike could be the issue, but waxworms are the potato chips of the chameleon world. They love them and will only eat them if given the choice. Id lay off of them and let him sweat it out for a few days you should be okay, but I feel your frustration. My guy is picky about eating roaches and will only eat them if they are free ranged and scurrying past him.

It's been about 4 days now, I only give him a couple every other day. Thanks for the advice

Limit waxworms to 1 or 2 worms a month imo -if that-. Sounds like a hunger strike, but it'd help if you filled out the "how to ask for help sticky". My panther is about the same age as yours and they begin to get a rush of hormones at this time. They tend to get very picky and may refuse to eat at times, mine did this for about a week and a half recently before his shed. Has he gotten stand offish, flaring up more? Hormones and shedding time plus addiction to waxworms is a perfect storm for hunger strikes.

He seems fine in himself, when he sees me he wants to come out if I go near the viv he rushes over to get out. He's not had wax worms for about 3 weeks, hopefully by the weekend he'll be eating

I'm in the same position as you. Only my problem is superworms and silks. I have hard time with much else.

He's hunger striking. I had to stop crickets, supers, etc... for the last 3-4 months. He will only eat silks, horns & stick insects at the moment.

My guy took a looooong time before he'd touch a roach.
Just hang in there and find what he likes. It may be you need to switch to soft feeders for a while.

Hi sorry I've not replied, he's still not eating right he's having the odd locust an occasional cricket. He won't eat the roach unless it's free roaming about an he comes across it but not sure what else to give him as we can't get super worms or horned worms through any of the local pet shops. What other food could I try?

There a nightmare, I've tried going back to a smaller bug a bigger bug roaches. I guess I just have to wait it out

He's drinking fine his poo is normal no orange in the white part, the thermostat is set on 29 celcious or 84 Fahrenheit and he wanders around the viv fine.
