Panther chameleon still won't open eyes

Ok thank you. But he doesnt even want to eat. What should I do?
Force feed carefully, mash up bugs into like a bug juice or get Carnivore care formula. Yes, calciworms or Phoenix worms. Also, Honey is great way to add a boost of energy. As far as hydration, try letting water just drip onto his nose for several minutes to help him stay hydrated. If you can get a hold of carnivore care you can mix it up and just put a dallop on the tip of his nose to lick off. You can prob do it with mashed bugs too and just mix in his calcium into it.

Call around different places to see what type of insects they offer. Once he starts eating on his own again order him lots of variety. Hornworms and silks are the best. A little pricey but I order once a month. Like I said Linda's gone Buggy and rainbow mealworms offers variety bug packs. Linda has slightly better deals on most bugs. Some other things to consider are roaches, giant Isopods, butterworms, superworms, waxworms.

I
And I guess I should tell you so you are not freaking out. Mine ended up passing bc he developed MBD, falling branches, fell into some water. I was using a bowl to catch water from a dripper bc I didn't have drainage set up. Which was absolutely stupid of me. But on top of MBD it caused RI from falling into water. I was giving him Reptaid which fought it for a while but then he started getting bubbles after drinking water and so I took him to the vet that day and the doctor prescribed Baytril. Immediately the following day after starting Bayreil he was throwing up, completely stopped eating and drinking, turned black, eyes stayed shut and two days later passed. The Bahtril was way way way to harsh I his already sick body. But my little guy was simply not growing at all(From MBD). The guy I have now has recently had a vet visit and had a perfect bill of health. Many many things have changed since then, including better gut loads, daily supplementing with no D3, more insects, drainage, and higher humidity. There is a balance o everything. Just takes patience and a lot of work. Eventually you will get the hang of husbandry.

Something is not right, I would get a second opinion from a vet. I know there are different kinds of fecals that tell different things like a float vs a smear.

In the meantime though, I would up his mistings, you said you spray for 2 minutes, is that just one time a day? Make it at least 4 times a day with at least one of those being 5 minutes.

Wouldn't you think a vet would take blood and do an X-ray? with the symptoms you can't just rule out MBD. And without bloodwrk you can't say for sure its Vit A deficiency.

That's why I'm thinking a second opinion. Or ask the vet to do more testing. When my Cham was dealing with eye issues we didn't do an X-ray or blood work. I don't think it's something they think to do when you come in for eye problems.

You would think automatically alarming if he cant shoot his tongue properly.Or the fact he isn't moving.Especially if he had told his vet he wasn't using UVB light everyday.Thats a huge red flag there. Which I know it is symptoms of Vit deficiency too.But just assuming without bloodwork is just funky to me.

From what I am reading he hasn't been using the 10.0 all that long so I doubt it's the lights. And it sounds like the lights weren't changed until after the vet visit. Bloodwork and X-rays just aren't an automatic thing for some vets.

@Daniel Martin, I would suggest though, using the lights every day but get something to block half of the light, a piece of plexiglass will work just fine laid across the screen under half of the light. It will give him space to get out of the stringer UVB but still give it to him daily. How long have you been supplementing the way you have it laid out in your original post?

Also, you can get a 5.0 liner on line.... Amazon comes to mind. You could also go with an Arcadia 6% from Todd at Light Your Reptiles.

If he isn't shooting his tongue properly I would worry about mbd unless his eyes when they are open are directly affected. Have you had his eyes flushed by a vet? Only a vet can properly treat oncoming mbd. I definitely would consider getting a second opinion depending on your vet.
