Panther eating fake bendy vine!

I walked into the room my Cham is in and he was eating the bendy vine! He was chewing and quickly swalloed the Leicester before I could open the enclosure. He's 8 months and I've never seen him eat plants. I usually give him a two silkworms around 8am but I ran out yesterday. I was running late to get my daughter to school and I didn't have time to sort through the roaches to find a small one. I arrived home at 10ish to find him chomping on the vine. Would he do that from hunger. I didn't think it would be that bad to wait two hours. Should I remove all his vines? Or just the one he was munching on. Under the rubbery coating it looks like cardboard. Should I be rushing him to the vet? I fed him two roaches right after he swallowed the vine piece. I'm standing right in front of him so he's stopped digging at the vine.

I have been told on here that it is a very common, almost expected, for panthers to chew on things such a vines, sticks, etc. My panther did it for the first month or so i had him but he has seemed to stop, or at-least i haven't seen it. I got rid of the vines he liked to chew on mostly and got the exo-terra ones, they seem hard for them to bite anything. I didnt want my cham to swallow too much and get a life threatening impaction. Just my experience with this issue.

If its not too big it should go through his system but there is a possibility of it getting stuck. Wait a few days and if he doesn't pass it then get an X ray. Keep him extra hydrated.

Male panthers do love to chew vines. However, the styrofoam ones should be removed if they show an interest. It can swell in his stomach upon contact with liquid. Feed many soft bodied prey (silkworms, hornworms, freshly molted crix or supers, flies, etc...) and keep hydrated.

Ok, will do. I took out the vine he took a bite out of because I didn't want him to keep nibbling on that spot. I left the other vine in. I've been checking on him a lot today and he seems to have left it alone. I'll watch for him to poo. I just got some hornworms fo that will keep things moving. Hopefully.
