PANTHER EGG INDENT

so i have an panther chameleon egg that i bought off of a breeder. it’s been incubating via closet method for about seven months. four days ago i noticed the egg shrunk and noticed a bit of sweat! however, other than that there haven’t been anymore signs of hatching. in fact, there are now two dents in the egg (one on top and one on the side). i don’t see any molding but i can’t help but worry. i knew it was a big risk when i got the egg and i was willing to take it, but i can’t help but feel worried. i’ve been treating this egg like a human child for the seven months i’ve had it. any advice or commentary would be greatly appreciated seeing as there isn’t a lot of chameleon egg content to base off of.

I wish I could give you an answer. It's hard to tell from a photo sometimes. Your egg is not pure white with Windows like I would expect...but don't give up on it! The 4th photo looks better than the others.

What temperature have you been keeping it at?

I wish I could give you an answer. It's hard to tell from a photo sometimes. Your egg is not pure white with Windows like I would expect...but don't give up on it! The 4th photo looks better than the others.

What temperature have you been keeping it at?

the temp is usually 75 degrees F. and thank you for the link! i don’t want to disturb the egg so i can’t tell if it’s hardened but i’m not super hopeful at this point :/ i’ll definitely wait it out though! and if anything happens i’m sure the breeder will be more than happy to accommodate seeing as he’s been very helpful through the entire process.

i just decided to take another look at the egg and i’m noticing some sections of the egg appear thinner (almost transparent). and i also noticed two more indentions. those pictures were taken about three hours ago and the egg has definitely changed since then! i’m crossing my fingers!! is there anything i can do to help the hatching process? temp or humidity wise?

Definitely wait it out. I've seen some very bad looking eggs hatch.
It would be nice if the breeder will accommodate!

here is how it looks now. (notice the thinner line patterns near the tip of the egg)

Yup...looks like it's thinning there to split. Fingers crossed....now don't take the lid off often and don't leave it off if you do have to take it off to check. You don't want the shell to dry out!
